More on Dasavatharam from Kumudam
The June 6 issue of Kumudam (popular Tamil magazine) has some additional info about Dasavatharam:
- The ten avatars are apparently 1) US President George Bush, 2) Balaraman, 3) a brahmin, 4) a tall Afghan, 5) a Lankan Tamil, 6) an old lady, 7) a doctor, 8 ) a police officer, 9) a Japanese and 10) a Daler Mehndi look-alike.
- The famous Chidambaram temple has been recreated as a set.
- There is a boat-race involving about 1000 boats.
- A palace has also been set-up, and Napoleon appears as an Emperor.
- Asin’s double role involve the 11th century brahmin’s wife and as the modern day Balaraman’s wife.
- Apparently tsunami attack sequence is confirmed. It strikes a location having Hindu, Muslim and Christian places of worship.
With the highest ever budget in Indian cinema, Dasavatharam, to me, is the most eagerly awaited movie of the year. Hopefully the Sivaji fever would have subsided before Kamal strikes.

If you follow this site, you’d have seen talk about ventures with Saran and P Vasu. Now that both don’t seem to be working out, all of us are eagerly awaiting any announcement. I don’t think ‘Robot’ will be resurrected.

I agree with you, KAMAL is probably avoiding ROBO because the length of time SHANKAR takes to complete a film.KAMAL probably wants someone who can deliver fast,that’s why K.S.RAVIKUMAR was chosen for DASA.

Next will probably be a home production… I hope Kamal himself directs it.. Bala, Ameer or Selvaraghavan would be great too..

It would be great if KAMAL join forces with GAUTHAM again. Guys, remember the good old days when KAMAL was giving out hits like apporva sagothargal,nayagan,indran chandran,kuruthipunal etc?I sure miss those kind movies from him.

Hey though the movie production budget would be around 50 C , the amout for advertising etc would ultimatly Increase its Budget

i think the next film is marmayogi which is directed by himself it will be produced by walt disney with a budjet of 120 crores it narrates the story of 10th century which would probably the kamal’s greatest classic ever made
