Dasavatharam: background legend?

Fellow-blogger Hawkeye has come up with a possible mythological (?) background to Dasavatharam, based on what we have heard till now and the recently released stills. Whether it turns out to be true or not, it’s definitely an interesting read.

thanks for the link and the mention.

I am glad kamal is touching esoteric topics to make his movies. One minor nitpick. I would hesitate to call it ‘mythological’. As most of it is true and if at all there is any change it is in the name of the sultan who stole it and his location. Kamal maybe paying tribute to people who have lost lives in that process. so lets not make it a myth :-)

Thanx for the comment and the post, Hawkeye. I used ‘mythology’ for want of a better word — hence the question mark in brackets.

muslims came to india in 8th century itself the likes of mohammed bin qasim.ghazini mohammed invaded in 11 century itself refer “vanthargal vendrargal”by madhan.

  5. Dasafan says:

Mughals or sultans or muslim invaders came to south india only by 15th century. Till chola were powerful ie kuluthunga cholan II and his son (who is the last powerful king of chola) around 1196 - 12th century, muslims never came to south india. Also eastern or wsteren chalukya, todays belgum were rival to cholas and they were also strong.
