You too, Raja Sen?
Raja Sen, for those who don’t know, is one of the leading movie reviewers in India and writes for Rediff.com. People speak about him in the same breath as Baradwaj Rangan, the award-winning critic of The New Indian Express. Raja, whose reviews are read regularly by many (including myself), had this to say about Kamal as a director, in one of Rediff.com’s ’slideshows’:
Then followed films like Abhay and Hey Ram. Perhaps the paying public — and most of us — can’t quite see eye-to-eye with the great man’s lofty concept. Either that or he should stick to slapstick.
Let’s pardon his ignorance on which movies Kamal has directed. Agreed, Kamal has proxy-directed many. But in the end, he dares to suggest that Kamal “should stick to slapstick”! While the piece may be frivolous, a respected media-person should know better than writing about something he doesn’t know. Et tu, Raja?
Though the national media is slowly paying more attention to South India, they have a long way to go. The featured still of Kamal actually seems apt — showing disgust towards a little kid!

LOL, that’s RS who is just another B.S!
Raja Sen is a certified idiot, it’s high time we stop taking this guy seriously!

Sadly true. However I take this as an insult to BR! No other “critics” come close to him. Although I personally feel at home with few blogger!

A few samples of Mr. Sen’s critiques (or whatever you call them) are enough to see that he does not possess even an iota of the intellectual and analytical prowess required to be a critic. Discussing his comments is an insult to the intelligence but unfortunately Rediff (for some bizarre reason) flaunt him as their ace critic. It really is a shame!

I saw that slide show when it was featured on rediff. But since I know this idiot and his ignorance on Indian and world cinema - besides his shortcomings as a critic. Raja Sen is a COMPLETE, BONAFIDE IDIOT! Like HAL said, tt PAINS me to no end when they put him in the same league as Baradwaj Rangan (whom I really admire). It’s disservice and insult for BRangan!!! I hope rediff gives him the boot and gets somebody with brain!!!

It seems Raja Sen is a twenty-something fool whose rich mommy and daddy sent him abroad to study journalism and he didn’t learn diddly squat. But since in our country any fool educated abroad gets a job, Sen did too.
Just type the words ‘Raja Sen rediff idiot’ in your google search to find attestations of Raja sen’s medocrity.
I don’t even find his writing engaging, its sometimes mildly funny but there are so many better writers if you want to laugh at or with something.
Last I heard, he was fired from rediff. No one liked him as a professional and even as a person.

I can’t belive that a shitty writer like Raja Sen from rediff could be compared to any one with good credentials. Everyone in filmworld knows that he sucks up to some film-makers in order to sll his scripts. everyone avoids him. Read up Ram Gopal Varma’s blog and see what he had to say about this so-called film critic
