As reported earlier, Kamal was present to felicitate Manorama on her completion of 50 years in the film industry. The Hindu carried a report featuring quite a few excerpts from Kamal’s speech.

Hope EVERYTHING WORKS OUT GREAT FOR HIM!!
Waiting VERY EAGERLY for DASAVATARAM and Ofcourse MARMAYOGI - BOTH these movies SHOULD DO EXCCEEDINGLY WELL and I STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT THEY WILL DO GREAT!! Hopefully that will generate enough MONEY for THALAIVAR to do MARUDANAYAGAM!!!

One can only hope Kamal dons roles that best encapsulates his stature and mass-features that demand songs & dances are a thing of the past. Let’s just hope that his Dasavatharam & Marma yogi takes Thalaivar to another pedestal that allows him to further broaden the horizons of Tamil cinema and simultaneously, permits him to age gracefully - both on & off screen.
His physical appearances in recent events from book launches, poetry citation ceremony and cine-field anniversaries presents a man at peace with himself and that reflects in his speeches, comments & interviews - despite constant challenges from the probing press, politically-driven smear campaigns and tamil “culture-vultures”.
His forays in literature and poetry further cements his ardent thirst for stimulus for both the mind and soul.
