Dasavatharam release: final date?

It looks like we have a final date for the release of Dasavatharam: April 10. Oscar Ravichandran provides more details in the Sify.com report.

Apparently, Rahman doing the background score didn’t work out and they have settled for Devi Sri Prasad. Kamal fans are generally not happy about it; but they are going along with the confidence they have in Kamal. The audio release date is still oscillating between early March and late February.

Though the number of prints isn’t officially announced yet, there are some numbers doing the rounds. It is in the line of the earlier news.

    All these sparodic information and inconsistent announcements coupled with unconfirmed confirmations seems to befall all of Kamal’s ventures. Hopefully all this is seen as an optimistic excitement for a forthcoming blockbuster… not raise expectations sky high and then brace for a spectacular fall …

    Hi,
    I’m a huge fan of Kamal Haasan and stumbled on to your site accidentally. I’m not sure if there is just one person or a group of people behind this site, but you guys are doing a great work. I was actually searching for some quality source to read about Kamal Haasan, and I’ve found it finally. Count me in. I’ll be a regular reader from now on. :)

    Hi Randramble!

    I see your frustration not getting enough information on Dasavataram - just like me (THE DIE-HARD KAMAL-sir FAN!!) But I think Kamal-ji wants to wait till say Feb-end or March to start the publicity campaign as it would loose it’s steam as the movie is going to be released only in April!

    So information control - that’s there! I don’t think there were any delays as such - because both Ravikumar & Kamal-sir repeated said it would be impossible to say the release date till the movie is close to completion!!

    SINCE DASAVATARAM IS GOING TO RELEASE IN APRIL -10th, IT’S GOING TO BE A GREAT BIRTHDAY (April-14th!!) FOR ME THIS YEAR!!!!

    In retrospect, I do agree there weren’t very many limited infomation on Kamal’s earlier releases. From Hey Ram, Aalavandhan,Panchathantiram, Virumaandi, Vettaiyadu Villaiyadu and now Dasavatharam - there always seems to be something controversial that’s catching unwarranted attention - court cases, charges of “cultural damage”, controversial publicity on personal affairs etc.

    Above all, Kamal stands tall & firm in complete stature of a true artiste.
