Dasavathaaram: audio release photos & reports
The barrage of multimedia information coming out on Dasavathaaram is truly mind-boggling. As we await to unleash all of that, first, we need to report on the grand audio release function of last evening.
The photos featured here are from Behindwoods. Though not of very good quality, they cover several aspects of the event.

There are detailed reports on The Hindu, Behindwoods and Times of India too. Even our friends on Orkut provided live updates on the discussion forum. One of the highlights of the function was talk of Kamal and Jackie Chan coming together in a movie.
Many fans were disappointed to not get an entry into the Nehru Indoor Stadium. Obviously, there was some chaos.

I saw the DASA coverage on TV. Kamalji was purely emotional while talking & during coverssation with Amitab on english Kamalji purely emotional. I noticed HIS eyes r wet. While reading the written speech, HIS voice is little shaky. This is not seen in HIS regular talks.
Dasa songs very nice to hear & surely SUPER HIT NUMBERS by HIMESH !

Kamalji extracted best compositions from Himesh.
It is UNVELIEVABLE that “MUKUNDA” is composed by Himesh. Mukunda resonates “ISAIGNANI” ILAIYARAAJA style of composition & Lyrics r MEANIGFUL & WORTHY.
“உலக நாயகனே” பாட்டு “அதகளம் ” !!!! கமல்ஜி ரசிகர்களுக்கு பாடல் வரிக மிகப்பெரிய விருந்து.
“உன்னை பெற்றதில் பெருமை கொள்ளுது நாடு.”
” நீ பெருங்கவிஞன், நிரந்தர இளைஞன் !”

The publicity was not for the music as such. It was for movie as a whole. In normal cases, it would mainly be the NRIs who would watch Indian movies screened abroad. It has never been the case as in we indians watching a JC movie or a Tom Cruise movie. Idea here is to slot Dasa in this category. If it clicks among Non Indians overseas, it could make a lot of money as well as vouch for critical acclaim

I have to agree partly with what you said.Yes, the publicity IS for the movie.That is exactly what I am worried about.Already the 10 characters have been cleverly deciphered and stills of the 10 characters have been circulating on the net.Karunanidhi nearly blurted out the whole story during his speech at the audio release.Kalaignar TV showed some parts of the songs, revealing Kamal’s different get ups for prolonged periods(10-40 secs).All this, in my point of view, is ruining the suspense which was painstakingly built over the past two years by Ravikumar and Kamal.Kamal in his own words stated that they had maintained a stony silence on the matter to build the suspense and to keep it alive even after two years.I feel that the crew is gradually losing its grip on the media.
