Unnaipol Oruvan / Eenadu: release & response

With Unnaipol Oruvan and Eenadu on their final leg in theatres, let us have a round-up of the release and response over the past few weeks.

Rajnikanth, as usual, praised Kamal’s effort, as reported by IndiaGlitz and Thatstamil. He was among the several special invitees who watched Unnaipol Oruvan. In addition to the below video from Behindwoods, check out the video from IndiaGlitz too.

OneIndia published photos of film reel boxes arriving in USA. IndiaGlitz featured first-day-first-show celebrations. Check out the collection of old posters put up on the occasion.

Initial reports on the response came in from OneIndia and Webdunia. After topping the Tamil box-office charts for 4 weeks (before Diwali), Unnaipol Oruvan is said to have garnered terrific profits. Check out other reports from Webdunia (1 | 2) and IndiaGlitz. There was a record in the Mayajaal multiplex in the Chennai area too. Eenadu is said to have had a decent run too.

Unnaipol Oruvan trailer, Eenadu trailer & stills!!!

While the Eenadu trailer was launched officially in Hyderabad on Saturday and distributed to various Web-sites, Unnaipol Oruvan’s was soft-launched on Facebook around midnight (India time) subsequently. We expect the Tamil trailer to be officially launched on August 31, Monday, along with the audio. Till then, check out the one on Facebook and the Telugu trailer on IndiaGlitz or 123Telugu.com.

Both trailers look slick and setup the basic plot which will help draw audience to the theatres. But surprisingly, the Tamil version is a whole 50 seconds longer.

A good number of stills of Eenadu are out too! Check out 123Telugu.com (stills | posters) and GreatAndhra.com.

Dashavtar premiere, promotion

The premiere of Dashavtar was held on 16 April, Thursday at Mumbai. Kamal was there with his whole family. Few of Kamal’s industry friends also attended. It was heartening to see Yash Chopra and Rohan Sippy attend despite the ongoing producers’ strike.

See photos from MastiOne, Glamsham.com, Behindwoods, IndiaGlitz, NowRunning.com, Galatta.com . Read a report with photos from Rediff.com.

Below is a video from Glamsham.com covering the press meet that happened along with the premiere. Another amateurish version is available on YouTube.

Alongside, more pieces came out in the media as part of the movie promotion. The one from Reuters stood out — they had a series of short Q&A. Check out others from The Hindu, Hindustan Times, IBNLive (1 | 2) and IndiaGlitz. Above is a video from IBNLive.
